Co-owner, Certified Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor
Hi, my name is Coach Rodger, co-owner of SWEAT along with
Lakiesha, my better half. I've been a certified personal
trainer and group instructor since 2005 (16 yrs). I teach a variety
of different style spin, boot camp, and kettlebell classes and
conduct individual and small group personal training
sessions.
With my software engineering background, I'm primarily
responsible for managing and developing our business systems
including integrating our online scheduling system with our
website, and various other business software and mobile access
applications.
I have a passion for living a very long, healthy life and, I
don't take health for granted! In 2003, I struggled with my
weight when I had a sedentary career, weighing as much as 256lbs at
6'1“, I was 28% bodyfat and had a 42” waist. Today, I manage
my weight at 195lbs, at about 15% body fat and a 32“ waist.
I've dramatically changed my health and have made considerable
changes to my diet over the years...in fact, I've been a vegan
since March 2010! It was a CHOICE I made after reading a book
called ”Skinny B _ _ _ _...if you can't figure it out, stop by and
ask me.
Anyway, my decision was based upon the fact that eating a
plant-based versus our western, animal-based diet can extend your
life 5-10 years and, reduce and even reverse high-risk diseases
such as diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and even cancer! I
did more research and, once I confirmed these things, it was a
no-brainer for me at that point.
I have been a competitive athlete; I've competed in amateur
bodybuilding, running events, outdoor cycling, and
triathlons. My goal is to maintain a healthy, active
lifestyle and, sustain a high quality of life well beyond the
century mark (100+ years of age).
My role model was a very vibrant, independent 100 years young
gentleman named James “Jim”
Brown who drove to and fro, (his license was good til age
102), swung a mean golf club, and taught chair exercise classes 4
days a week to other seniors! I'm nowhere near that but, I
really enjoy being an example to others, especially baby boomers to
help them to realize that through adopting better nutritional
habits and exercising, they too can realize their health, fitness
and longevity potential!

Hi! My name is Lakiesha and I'm the proud co-owner of SWEAT!
I have worked in the area's fitness clubs since 2002.
I'm a certified personal trainer and a certified CPR/AED Basic
Life Support and Basic First Aid instructor. I also hold
certifications in Pilates Reformer, Arthritis Foundation Aquatics,
TRX Group Training, and RealRyder Indoor Cycling. I also
earned a BA in Business Management from CSU Sacramento.
I'm a former National Level Figure competitor
with corporate sponsorships from MET-Rx and Max Muscle
supplement companies. As a competitor I honed my skills in
nutrition for the purposes of losing body fat and building lean
muscle! I use this knowledge to help our clients achieve the
results they desire, whether that be to loss weight, gain muscle,
or even prepare for Fitness competitions. I've
trained and managed a 12 member fitness staff, managed the
product marketing and merchandising and, have developed fitness
programs for a local large regional fitness chain.
Hi, my name is Terri! I started working at IS with the
front desk staff when they opened their latest club on Pershing and
March Lane. I left there and joined my parents here at SWEAT
as a co-instructor in mid 2015. In January 2017, I was given
my own Kangoo Jumps® classes and when needed, I sub for my mom and
teach her POUND® class!
I enjoy teaching because I love to choreograph dance moves to
music and I get a thrill when I see our members learning the moves
too! If you feel you need more hand holding, I'm available
for private lessons, just ask!
Hi, I'm AunDerel (aka Derel) and I love fitness! I've
worked 3 years for IS and for the past 2 years I have been a
sub-instructor for my parents gym teaching Bootcamp's or
co-teaching Kangoo Jumps® with my brother AnTerrio!
My fitness journey began in 2013 when I decided to put on 30lbs
of lean muscle. I've accomplished that goal and, now I want to
put on another 20lbs of muscle by the summer of
2018!
In January 2017, I was promoted to Director, Social Media,
taking over those duties from my dad and I love it! If you
see me taking photos and videos in the studio, smile, chances are
you'll probably be on one of our social media pages!

The owners and staff of SWEAT Cycling Studio and Personal Training are energetic and passionate about fitness. Each are required to be certified as indoor cycling, group exercise instructors and personal trainers. Many are also competitive athletes having competed or participated in century and metric-century rides, triathlons, open water swims, mud-runs, marathons, half-marathons, 5 & 10k's, and amateur figure & bodybuilding competitions.
